Hi there
We did this trip just four weeks ago, albeit to Paros. However we did do Naxos trip three years ago. Then, on the trip to Naxos we boarded the boat - The Naxos Star almost straight away, journey took, I think to Naxos about 2 to 2-15 hours. The boat calls first at Paros to drop folk off then carries on to Naxos. This year however, we spent a bit of time in Mykonos as the boat had not arrived to pick us up when we got to the port. Coach took us to the port where there is a safe place to leave your luggage, we then had an hour maybe an hour and half or so to kill before we boarded the boat. There are a couple of tavernas close by, if you just want a beer or something. However the main town is only a few mins walk and is very pretty indeed, lots of little winding cobbled street, with some fantastic gold shops. You may even be lucky enough to see the resident pelican who wanders about the streets. Depends on how long you have to wait for the boat, and how tired you are (and Hot!!) your rep Sarah ? or Christina will tell you, both girls very experienced and helpful.
If you do have a bit of a wait when you go, come out of the port up the little hill, there is a taverna for a beers and a little shop right in front of you, if you want a walk turn RIGHT. This will take you to the main shopping areas, be warned though it's easy to get lost in those little streets!!!
When you board the Naxos Star, & I would say this is def. the one you will get as it is the one used by KOSMAR, they only use the big ferry if the weather is really bad and the NS won't sail. Very rare. The Naxos bound passengers get on first so there luggage is on first, Paros second as they are first off! The staff will help with the luggage and stow it for you, they also get it off at the other end. When you board, it is Maybe an idea to go below deck, there is a good air-conditioned room down below, they also serve tea coffee beers and sandwiches. The crossing can be a little rough occasionally, but nothing to worry about. personally we have had no problems with this, but was a little rough on the homeward journey this year. However, reason I say to go below is that on our return this year back to Mykonos, it got rough for the last 1/2 of the journey and the people up above who got seats at the front of the deck got soaked to the skin, and I mean SOAKED

not an ideal way to start your long journey home!!!
We had Christina as our rep and she was great, long dark hair tied in a plait usually, your rep for Naxos is blonde and I think it is either Sarah or Sally her name.
You will love Naxos, lots of lovely places to eat out and the beaches a great.
Have a wonderful time
If you think of anything else - give me a shout
