Hi Rosie, my wife is the same, she has tried lots of things meditation, yoga, deep breathing etc, etc ... but she finds that a bottle or two of your favourite tipple is best. Take it every night from now leading up to the holiday and increase the dose if this does not seem to be working. Invite others around to help you with your medication and talk your fears over with them. Works every time
Hi Rosie ... have you had a browse through these topics to see if there may be any useful advice for you. Please feel free to post again in either one of them if you think they are relevent:
Thanks for replying, feel a little better knowing there are others like me,
i am the same as you,all excited from the day we pick our holiday.
then its worse from the day we book,i have to plan every detail, over and over, think where we might want to go when we are there, what if it rains to hot etc..
my hubby just lets me ramble on,now and then he might say its this final,(um maybe).
he packs or all the way there it would be,did i remember this or that.
i have used rescue remedy, and different herbal things which calm the nerves a little.
but i try to channel my nervous excitment, and just enjoyit all.
regards angelica
I'm ok, but Dave is afraid of flying. He goes to the doctors and get some diazepam which helps him a great deal. He used to be a gibbering, frightened wreck, now he can look out the window!
6 days now and counting, and getting more anxious, i know i will be okay when i get there but it's the build up to it, i don't want to get like i was last year, so trying to think positive, made it worst last year because we flew on sept 11 and the security was quite frightening especially when you don't like flying, also watching lost does'nt help lol, as i am putting this on i have the news on and and feel ashamed of myself for going away on holiday, prattling on about being nervous and all those poor people without homes, guess i should count myself very lucky compared to them,
If you're anything like Dave. He gets himself wound up, as if he's afraid because he knows he'll be afraid (if you get my drift).
