You will have to renew your visa on entry. It must be valid when you LEAVE. Otherwise you will be fined for each day you overstay.

And I beleive that unless you ask for a multiple entry visa (same cost) you automatically get just a single entry visa

The 3 month tourist visa is multiple entry.

I guess I was misinformed then. Thats good, saves me £20 next weekend 
If it expires while you are there you will have to buy new one on way in DEFINETLY ! Or pay daily fine on way out which will be more than £10.
