Ok,so 1 week to go then off for some sun.Just needing any info now on where to go and what to see (what shouldn't we miss).Don't want to book through the reps (not even going to the meeting this time),so where around the resort is best to book and what sort of prices are we looking at ?
I don't drive and the wife will not drive abroad (i want to live a little longer !!) so it's gonna be buses/taxis/walking and boats - so any suggestions would be most helpful, thanks,Spike.
P.s - most resorts have them, so where should we avoid ?
Last year there was a nice 2 hour boat excursion from the tiny harbour at Es Cana(not the ferry boats)It went to about 4 or 5 nice beaches/coves(you dont get off)and stopped for swimming for about half an hour.It leaves in the morning and afternoon I think.
Another nice way to pass a couple of hours is to walk along the coastal path to Es Cana.I do this walk about two or three times every visit.
Have fun,you are going to the nicest resort in the Balearics.
hi exactly which way do you go to walk the coastal path (in detail)and is it suitable for kids or is it rocky in places mo
It is suitable for kids and is a clearly defined path all along except for when it crosses the beaches at Cala Pada and S'aragamassa.
I would reccommend you use trainers or sandals and not flip flops,I did it in flip flops last time and cut my toe on a tree root sticking up from the path.
Trips - there are numerous boat trips from the marina running to Es Cana, Cala Llonga, Ibiza Town etc.
Would also recommend a trip to Formentera by boat.
Ibiza Town - i would recommend you visit on an evening rather than during the day - lovely place (cost about 20 euros in taxi).
If you start from Santa E walk out of town on the road at the back that runs to Es Cana,as you start to leave the main built up areas the buildings become more sparse although still plenty of them.Around this point just head towards the coast by turning right, look for a newish modern hotel that is beige in colour,I think it is called Tropical gardens it is a large German hotel. At this hotel there is a path that runs down the side and brings you to the coast where you just head left towards Es Cana. The walk ends when you reach Cala Martina beach - at the end of this beach there is a road that will take you into the centre of Es Cana in about 5 minutes walking
Obviously if you are starting from Es cana take this road from the centre and after passing Punta Arabi and the Murphy's pub you will come to Cala Martina beach.
The walk takes about an hour each way less if you are a fast walker like me,but there are several bars on the beaches that you cross to take refreshments should you need them.If you dont fancy the walk back you can always get a taxi.
hi,i know cala martina beach well its one of my favorite.i have walked from escana before.next june we are having a few days at s'argamassa and taking a couple with us who have never been to ibiza before so i thought we could walk into escana/santaeulalia a couple of evenings while its still light and get taxis back mo
Thanks for thr responses.

I would definetly agree with that. Ibiza Town is very nice during the day, but definetly comes to life in a evening while remaining suitable for all ages. The light it up extremley well and the all night markets which intermix with the street resturants are excellent. There is also a great night life here as well with many fantasic bars, however unless you are feeling a little rich I wouldn't stop in the marina front bars which can be expensive.
A taxi is of course a good option but it is worth noting as well that there is a direct bus running from Santa Eulalia to Ibiza Town on a regular basis, 24 hours a day (although for the later services it is advisable to check the timetables)
