That's the trouble in Lindos, there's so many small accommodations that many have the same/similar name. I thought you said on your previous post they were the ones near the italian restaurant, did your travel agent tell you?
Anyway glad you had a good time in Lindos, did you get in all the snorkelling, etc. planned? I know the area you mean, I've stayed nearby before. Not bad but the hill can be a killer after a day on the beach/night on the town!!

Hi Marcus

Yes, we got in lots of snorkelling. My boyfriend was in his element - he was fascinated by the fact that on the three different beaches we went to (St Pauls, Main beach and Vlicha) there were totally different types of fish. Lindos definitely has the clearest and calmest sea we've ever been in.

The apartments weren't up the main hill towards Lindos View. You walk up past Agostinos restaurant towards the carpark but then straight after the restaurant turn a sharp right. They were just along a narrow little road down there.

The apartments were actually a lot better than expected. I had hoped to get a duplex (Kyriaki has two) but we didn't. The one we ended up with was actually better - very spacious with three beds, wardrobe, bedside tables, dressing table, kitchen table, kitchen area with two rings, fridge, kettle and all the utensils we could need. Bathroom had a shower WITH shower curtain! I had expected basic but to be honest I found it as good as a hotel room. We also had a large private terrace.
We could hire a fan from the owner, Nikos, but didn't bother. We wanted to save our money plus we didn't really need the fan. It was quite breezy on a night so we just opened a window (and didn't see a single mozzy the whole holiday!)

I loved Lindos and we both felt a week was not long enough to do everything we wanted to do. We are hopefully going to go back next year for a fortnight and I would definitely stay in the centre of the village again.

Will post more about what we thought of bars, restaurants, beaches, trips etc shortly.

Lindos is fabulous isn't it? Great for the calf muscles as well! We loved the restaurants and bars there- some of them are quite unique aren't they? Looking forward to hearing more!

Yes, Lindos was amazing. It was our first holiday on our own for four years (had previously gone on holiday with friends or my boyfriend's two kids) and Lindos was a very romantic place.

We ended up eating out every night even though we had planned on eating in the apartment a couple of times to save money - there were just so many restaurants to choose from and every night we saw another one we wanted to go to the following night!

Restaurants we visited were: Maria's, Steffany's, Dionysos, Caesars, Il Palazetto and Mavrikos. One thing we did find was that there was not much variety among the restaurants - they pretty much all had roof terraces and identical menus.

By far the best views were in Caesars - we were sat up the top by the pool and it was gorgeous up there. The waiter was also brilliant and made our night.

We really liked Maria's (possibly because it was our first night) because again they had excellent service, we really enjoyed the food and it was brilliant value - one of the cheapest meals we had.

We went to Il Palazetto mid week for a bit of a change. It was very expensive but was an absolutely gorgeous restaurant. They had one of the best pasta menus I've seen and we were spoilt for choice. Also enjoyed a divine panacotta and tiramisu.

Mavrikos was a last night treat (we had to draw out more money to go there). Their menu was undoubtedly excellent but we felt the service let them down - my boyfriend had a dirty glass and fork and our meals were not brought out together. We enjoyed it there but Mavrikos did not meet our high expectations.

If (hopefully when) I go back to Lindos I would like to try Arhontiko, Ambrosia, Odyssia and Acropolis.

As for bars, Lindos by night is definitely the winner with views and cocktails to die for (they also played some of my favourite music).

We went on two trips while we were in Lindos, both booked through Lindos Suntours (I think this is what they were called - you walk down the main street as far as the church then turn right and it is just there). Sami was our guide on both trips and he was hilarious. He runs a restaurant in Lardos and I definitely want to go there next time I'm in Lindos. I think the restaurant is called Oopah and they have a Greek night on tuesdays with plate smashing and dancing.

The first trip was to the waterpark and this was a brilliant day out. There were no queues for the rides with it being september. They had some of the best slides I've been on and an excellent wave pool where everyone lazed about in rings listening to music waiting for the waves and then rode the waves on the rings - very cool!

We also went to Rhodes Town. We had a walk around the harbour and then did some shopping inside the walled city which was full of gift shops.

Trips we would like to do next time are Symi and Prassonissi.

Beaches - we spent the most time on St Pauls beach and I swam practically right round the bay. It was so calm, it was like being in a swimming pool. Also did lots of snorkelling and sat watching the weddings from afar (saw several wedding parties arrive by boat, which looked cool). The main beach was lovely - one of the sandiest I've been on and you could wade right out into the sea with soft sand underfoot.

On our last day we were transferred to Yota Beach hotel in Vlicha Bay (this is another story which I will tell later). The beach here was also lovely but I would not stay at any of the hotels at Vlicha because they are too out of the way for my liking.

Some of the things I miss most about Lindos one week on are - the atmosphere, the gorgeous little streets, Gyros Pitta and Crepes (both yummy and cheap!) and the views. I wanna go back!!
