Im from Dublin and its a fantastic place to go. What type of hotel do you want to stay in and how central do you want to be. This will narrow it down and I can reccomend hotels that will suit you. Are you looking for nice restaurants or pubs and clubs for evening entertainment?
Caulfields Hotel just off O'connell Street. Are there pubs/clubs within walking distance ? Also what will the nightlife be like on St. Stephen's day, will it be lively ? Thanks.
The location you have choosen if very central and definatly they will be clubs and pubs close by
But as far as I know 99% of Dublin Pubs are closed Stephen's Day the only ones that are open are family run ones which there are very few in Dublin City Centre. Any ones who are "Union Houses" are closed.
Dont mind if anyone correct me on this point

Hi Carol ... I was always under the impression that in Ireland, not just Dublin, everything (shops, bars, clubs, restaurants) closes on Christmas Day and most of them on St Stephen's Day too, with hotel bars and restaurants open to their own residents only. Is it not regarded as more of a time to spend at home (and church) with family ?
Thanks for the info I'll probably go sometime later then, don't want to spend an evening with nothing much to do
