any one help or had the same problem, my daughter partner 4 children and son booked to go to Venesol Apts Gran Canaria in January 05 to travel on the 17th July, paid up and everything the 7 days before got another final Invoice, thought this strange so looked it over and in small writing at the top next next to accommodatiom it stated Parque Golf, on ringing thomas cook we were told it had been changed as they had lost the contract with them and as usual, they could cancel and have a refund,
But when you have 4 children looking forward to a holiday and time booked off work 7 days notice is no good so no option to accept. they said they had sent a letter a informing us of this but it was never received and still waiting.
they went to Parque Golf which was ok apart from being a lot further away from were they booked and a very grumpy barman, with a bar that shut at 9pm, being further away, and you know what children are like walking, they had to get 2 taxis twice a day to take them to entertainment and food that would have been on site at venesol.
so in all I would say it cost the £140.00 extra on their holiday because of this. they have been to venesol before and new there was a snack bar restuarant and entertainment. I have sent numerous letters to thomas cook without remedy the last one an email as the letter didnt reach us either because they keep putting wrong address. was telling us that they wouldnt consider compensation,and they dont pay anything out without receipts, for taxis (does anyone get these) but it also seems strange that my parents went to the Parque Golf themselves this october 05 and after talking to an anfi rep who used to work at Venesol, it seems that the venesol were bought out by a private firm who were selling the bungalows privately.
I also found out that another guest there at the same time in October had booked his holiday to Venesol in August a month after my daughter was changed and he was only told 7 days before that he would be moving to Parqe Golf. it seems to me that they contnued selling holidays that the knew they didin't have just let people book and then inform so late that you have to option than to accept The Parque Golf were ok no complaints about the bungalows and we are going back next july and next October but the distance doesn,t matter to us but would be for children.
Has anyone else had this problem. my daughter spent nearly £3000 for this
