We are spending a very long week end at the beginning of Feb in La Carihulea. I would like some information on eating out, especially where the locals go for Tapas, sea food etc.
If someone can lets us know that would be great.

Hi Rich. If you type in Carihuela (sic) in the search engine on this site you'll come up with quite a few suggestions. Mine was Casa Juan.
Thanks, just had a look at the search you mentioned and some of the strings.
Our favourite is Bar Playa,in Calle Bulto,a small family run bar/resturant,one street back from the beach paseo. They do a lovely Rosada planca, white fish with saute potatoes, which is our choice when ever we visit.Look out for the ships helm on the sign above the entrance.
There's a good one in Torremolinos town as well, from the beach, up all them stairs, and near the top. Can't remember it's name, but it's packed with locals and does a massive range of sherries, if that's your thing. Hope someone can come up with it's name.
Casa Juan ranks the highest out of more than 80 fish restaurants in La Carihuela.
I`ve been in there and had fried baby octopus...yummy.!
I`ve also tried restaurante Antonio on the corner of plaza Remo, where calle bulto starts, and the meal was good, but not as good as Casa Juan.
Some of the chiringuitos (small open bars on the beach) will probably be closed in Feb.
...but if there are not, then these are ideal for tapas, especially sardinas, which will be smoked/cooked on an open fire by the side of the bar.
If fish is your thing, then you will be spoilt for choice.

The bar at top of 100 steps from beach to calle san miguel is called Bodega Quitapena...Totally spanish and amazing
Yep, that's the one - well done, knew it was something to do with bodega, I was only in last Thursday as well . A great place, and very popular.
