Hi Samantha as Tony says, your options are limited (to say the least) - it should take around 2 hours from Varna airport to Sunny Beach by taxi or hire car, depending on road/traffic conditions.

I would go with arranged transfer , it depends what time you arrive at the airport, you are looking to pay around 20pounds each way

To transfer from Varna Airport to Sunny Beach, would it be safe at night. We are a family of 4 and due to land at 8.30pm at Varna Airport. I am tempted to book a hotel for the night, then arrange transfer the next morning. Any thoughts? Ta.

There are no airport hotels at Varna airport. Take a taxi but negotiate a fare first.

Hi we have managed to secure cheap flights to Varna. We are in the process of organisng a car transfer company to take us to the Sunny Beach area. We are due to lland at 8.30pm, (a family of 4 with 2 kids). Would it be safe to drive at night with a transfer company, or would it best to book a hotel in Varna for the night, and travel in daylight. Any advise/experience much appreciated. Ta. Yvette

What exactly do you mean by a car transfer company and how does it differ from a taxi?
The cost of a taxi into Varna, the cost of hotel overnight and then the cost of transport the following day is just not worth it. Why not just get a taxi to Sunny Beach?

A company that specialises in transfering you to one place to another. ( I suppose its like a taxi). Anyway, would it be safe to travel at night? Rather pay for a hotel than risk late evening driving with 2 kids. Thank you.

Much like anywhere else, if it's a reputable company with properly licensed drivers and insured cars, day or night I can't see a problem re safety.

Bulgaria is not the Wild West, and Varna to Bourgas is a well travelled main road.

Just returned from varna on friday after going over to complete on my apartment near sunny beach. We used a guy called richard from http://www.varnaexpat.com after he was recommended. I can confirm this guy provided a fantastic service. In spite of appalling road conditions (minus 20 degrees) he delivered us to and from our destination safely and for a very good price. I found him to be extremely honest,reliable and safe.
I would have no hesitation in highly recommending him to anyone else flying to varna. I have already re booked him for when we return in july.
