Sham69 - I think you will be very disappointed if you book all inclusive, there is so much choice here and fantastic restaurants, it would be a shame for you to miss out - give it a rethink, I know it's a personal choice, but .......!!??

Hi Flip

I agree with Sham69, we usually go AI when ever we go on holiday but only did this for our first visit to Goa and now we book B & B every time we go back.

Hi Flip

Everyone has different ideas about how to enjoy holidays. We go for two weeks all inclusive, but we also make sure we eat out a couple of times each week as well. I think as long as you are in Goa you are sure to enjoy your holiday whatever you decide.

Definately B&B, even if you decide to stay in the hotel it will probably be cheaper to pay them directly for your food and beer rather than the inflated tour operators prices.

Hi Sham - It's difficult to dictate things because we're all so different but I would never go all inclusive to Goa. People seem to spend far less time at their hotel in Goa than anywhere else I've ever been.

The beaches are fantastic and most people find a shack they like and spend most of the day there. Then it's back to the hotel, shower and out again to eat!

The restaurants are superb and a really big part of the enjoyment of a Goan holiday is eating out. The quality and variety of food is better than anywhere I've ever been....and it's so cheap!

One benefit of all inclusive is when the resort is unsafe. This is definitely not the case in Goa. The people are great and I've felt more threatened by English goons in football shirts than any Indian people!

I'd definitely go B&B and then consult the "favourite restaurants" thread on this site and prepare yourself for some great food!

The only time I would consider A.I. is if I were to stay in the south as not all the hotels have restaurants nearby. We are lucky as where we stay in the south there is one just outside the hotel and one other about one mile away.

Hi Sydney

I should of said it is the South we go to and you are quite right it is much quieter there. When we go out to restaurants in the evening we gave to get a taxi.

We stay AI at the Holiday Inn in the south because even the cost of drinks by the pool and a few drinks before dinner soon mounts up. You can also have snacks during the day.

If you are not much of a drinker then B&B would be fine, but the price of drinks in the hotel is quite steep. Some people tend to bring in their own bottles and sit in their rooms drinking (mostly Russians), but I can't see much fun in that.

We have worked out the prices, and even though we go to Mikes Beach Oasis most lunchtimes and out some evenings it still works out cheaper to go AI for us.
