yummymummy
we went in april last year and the staff at the hotel said it was the busiest April they had had for a long time. We also went on the first Monarch charter flight from UK in October just for one week and consequently the plane only had 53 passengers on the way back, this meant we all had a row of 3 seats each and it was brill !! Can't see it happening in April but you never know. It has to be said that although the staff said it was a busy April for them, it was nothing like December can be....much more peaceful. I can never work out if its better to check in early or late??? Sometimes the latecomers seem to get 3 seats between 2. Has anyone else noticed this?
Towpal.
We (Myself, my wife and our two 7 year old kids) are going for our first ever visit to Goa next saturday.... Though jewel in the crown holidays and on a Monarch flight
Are they really that bad? we are not very large people and of course the kids are small, but its a long old flight
We got the holiday at what I thought was a great price: £2700 for all 4 of us for a fortnight 3* b&b. To upgrade the flights would have cost another £800 !!!!
We plan to check in early, maybe I'll see if I can charm the woman on the desk to give us seats near the doors
Also I think our seats will be 3+1 which is disappointing that we can't all sit together
I would'nt worry too much, you have to think the flight is a very small part of your holiday. Monarch is cramped, and in our experience they will not give seats near the door to parties with children. If you get there early enough, there are a few rows of 2 seats near the back, you might be better trying for them...bit more aisle room to stretch your legs...and you will be in 2 x2 rather than one sitting alone. You soon forget the flight when you get there !! Funny it all comes back though, when the hols over
We're flying overnight so hopefully the kids will sleep most of the journey.
I will definitely ask about preferential seats though
Would not worry about Monarch at all and I think they are pretty much the same as other charter airlines, we used them for our trip to Goa in December I thought they were fine, would use them again with no hesitation.
Flew with Monarch last year 1st time long haul with them. Never again It was the worst flight I have have been on. Cabin crew couldn't get the trolley down the aisle it was that narrow, everyone bumped into your shoulder when they were going the toilet, not their fault aisle not wide enough to walk down, people had to walk sideways to get up and down it. Husband said even if it meant never going to Goa again he wouldn't fly Monarch. First choice this year 33 inches leg room in economy seat back tv fantastic.
