Have a lovely time!

One tip from me is to always have some tissue on you if going into Naama Bay - the toilets never seem to have any!

Wilson, I'm sure you're gonna want to cancel your Turkey trip in favour of the Red Sea again ;)

I hope thats the case, I too am a first time Sharm visitor having spent the last 5 years going to Turkey and it was very hard work getting the wife to agree to go to Sharm because she under the impression I will be diving all the time!

i'm not sure if it's the same for sharm, but for egypt in general it's a good idea to have some small notes of local currency for tips when you arrive..

and possibly sunglasses/suncream in your hand luggage depending on arrival time :)

I would certainly tip the bloke who puts your case onto the coach, even if it just a small amount. If you dont want to be pestered by the shopkeepers in Naama bay just say you are from Greece when they ask you where you are from!.It worked for us.

My only advise to you is beware of the local shop keepers. When I went to Naamba bay for the first time we were really naive and were stopped by a man outside a papryis(cant remember how it`s spelt, sorry) shop offering us a business card and wanting us just to have a look in his shop.

So we stupidly went into the shop where a further 2 men were there, they showed use numerous paintings and got extremely aggressive when we said that we weren`t looking to buy anything just yet.

One of the men locked the shop door and wouldn`t let us out until we had bought at least 5 of the paintings, which cost us LE 500.

It was a valueable lesson learnt and each time we were hassled to go into shops we just said a firm no and kept on walking.

Also in the main mall there is a couple of great shops called everything for LE 20,which was brilliant. My husband bought a stone fingure with a huge willy in another shop for LE100 and I got an exact same one out the LE20 shop for that price. He was gutted when he got home and unpacked as the willy snapped off his,yet my was fine.

where there's a willy, there's a way....

one thing to note, in the main mall, a lot of the souvenirs are made in china, if you go early enough to catch a delivery, you will see the guys picking the made in china labels off!!! Most of the jewellery beads etc are imports from china too!

I thought it was quite funny to see how many Asda and Tesco carrier bags they had.
