Still no further forward on the destination front....but we do have a date for our hols now.
We are looking at going somewhere on 19th March for a maximum of 7 days. We are looking for somewhere nice and warm, but there must be plenty to do...can't stand being stuck of a beach for a week.
Suggestions?
When you say things to do do you mean:
Activities watersports etc
Sightseeing - Ruins,cities etc
Nice and warm in March has to be at least 4 hours flying or were you looking longhaul.
One obvious choice of warm and plenty to see and do would be Egypt eith Cairo or Luxor.
The Canaires will be warm but apart from the odd sighseeing trip ie Tenerife Mount Tiede, Whale/Dolphin watching , the capital Santa Cruz a couple of animal parks is mainly a beach/pool destination.

Unless you are into walking/hiking in which case the smaller Canary Islands like La Gomera and La Palma have a lot to offer. My parents love coming with me to La Gomera because my Dad and I go off walking in the barrancos etc and my Mum suns herself all day on the balcony or by the beach! Keeps them both happy!

need a variety of activities. We're not really into sports, but a bit of history, a bit of nature, markets etc... It doesn't really matter, as long as there is a good variety to keep us going. Our nightmare scenario is being stuck of a beach all week.
Madeira.
