Sorry for the long trip report, well me and my other 2 male mates have never been to Playa del Ingles but we had a great weeks holiday there,we stayed at the GREEN SEA APARTMENTS,the apartments and the complex were good, clean and friendly, our apartment slept three people consisting of 2 single beds and a pull out sofa, there are 2 pools at this complex and a childrens pool there was also a supermarket aswell which was very handy, the walk to the beach was only 5 minutes away.
On our first night we got a taxi,(fare was only 3.50 euros)to the centre and went into CHINAWHITES this is where we first encounted our first slight annoying problem,we ordered 2 pints of lager and a bottle of budweiser, when the barman returned with our drinks we all got double what we ordered,we were told it was happy hour, great we thought 2 for the price of 1,we then went into THE GARAGE bar, same thing happened again,i then asked for just 1 bottle of budweiser, the barman asked me if i only got 1 bottle the price will be for 2,the happy hour price is better, it then dawned on us that it wasn't 2 for the price of 1,each round was coming to 18 euros,it was a clever ploy to play,by the end of the night we were leaving drinks behind(which i hated doing),we were getting annoyed at getting double drinks all the time.
Also we noticed the amount of people from Norway,Sweden,Denmark,Iceland etc,we were chatting to some girls and they said that most people come here to work for about 3 months as back home it was too cold, during our weeks stay we hardly saw any english people.
The plaza area we loved going there,it's full of bars that most of the european girls go to,i've never chatted to so many different girls from different countries,we learned that the night life comes alive around 1am,we encountered our second thing that annoyed us,it was the people who tried to get you into their bars and resturants, the way they hassle you was getting on my nerves,a few were ok but the rest were annoying,we were told the best way to get rid of them was to tell them you worked here.
Day 2, We ventured down to the beach, the beach was lovely, spent most of the day there, sunbeds cost us 4 euros each, not bad price really, got back to our apartment for another night on the tiles,we went to the kasbah area again but also went into a few different bars, the same happy hour drink ploy happened in every bar, another late night ensued and we got home around 3am.
Day 3, Just chilled by the side of the pool and relaxed, the weather was great for sunbathing in as whilst the weather was hot i never seemed to sweat, after spending the whole day at the hotel complex we decided to eat in the resturant,it cost us 8 euros each for a buffet meal,i wasn't really impressed with the food, the main problem was there were no names above the food to tell you what the food was.
We got changed and once again hit the bars around the kasbah, the two tips i will tell people about the nightlife that are going to Playa del Ingles is (a) DONT pay to go on pub crawls as we latched onto a few for free during our holiday,a ticket tout asked us if we wanted to pay 10 euros and they would show us the best bars, all we did if we saw a bar crawl was to migle in,we even managed a get some free shots in the bars, and (b) there is a nightclub called CHIC,to get in for free get your hand stamped inside the CHINAWHITES bar.
Day 4, We did the exact same thing as day 2,went for a chinese meal in the resturant next to CHINAWHITES in the evening, nice meal but had to much as we felt bloated, most meals cost us 40 euros including drinks which wasn't too bad,we got harrassed by the bar touts again but one tout who was ok took us to linkers bar,we stayed most of the night there as it was a chilled atmosphere,as we were walking to get a taxi it then rained,i've never seen rain come down that hard and fast, absolutely soaked, it then rained every night we were there, the streets were like rivers,it seemed that every time it rained at night the next day we had great weather.
Day 5, Hit the beach again and just relaxed, once again got a cheap taxi ride to the centre and went for a meal to a steak house restuarant, the resturant was situated next to the taxi rank near the kasbah,we had our first early night as the lack of sleep was catching us up.
Day 6, After our early night in we all got up very late(12.30pm) as it was late in he day we again stayed by the side of the pool and just chilled out,the normal routine occured of geting changed and heading into the center of town for a meal and then hitting the bars, latched onto a pub crawl and went into the CUBE bar,it was fairly big and the music was great, hit some more bars and headed down into the plaza where most of the night life was to be found, after 4 bars and a lot more beers later we staggered to catch a taxi.
Day 7, Last day and night in Playa del Ingles,we woke around dinner time, and decided to have a walk into the town and get some much needed exercise,Playa del Ingles is such a nice and great place,it looks totally different in the day time than night time,we found a resturant called Roma and decided to have a meal there, after our meal we had a stroll on the beach for the last time and headed back to our apartment,we changed for the last time and headed into the centre of town,we went into the bars that we did on our first night there, after saying goodbye to people we got to know on our weeks holiday we drank our last 2 happy hour drinks and headed home to catch our flight in the morning to take us back home to england.
Overall we had a great time and loved the place so much that we decided to go back in August for my birthday, hope i've not bored anyone with this long trip report?
wow! sounds like you had a great time.....
