no katiesmum, i havent seen any snakes, we was in luxor and i didnt see a single one.
are you frightened of them.

I`m scared to death!! I have a real phobia and have to ask this question before every holiday. Last year it was before we went to Sharm, this year we are going to Taba and El Gouna which I`m hoping will be fine, but thought I might stand more chance of seeing one in Cairo or Luxor.

I live in fear of ever seeing one, I can`t look at pictures of them and when they are on TV I have to turn it off or go out if the room, I hate it when one appears without warning. The thought of it turns me cold.

So if anyone has seen one please could you warn me. Thanks again

Don't worry! I've been to Luxor every year (often 2 or 3 x a year) since 1997 and have only ever seen one snake - and that one was in a pannier on the side of a donkey when I went horseriding on the West Bank. The guy took the lid off to show me & if I was willing to pay would have got it to do its party tricks. I declined the offer!! I believe there may be the odd
adder if you go wandering about in the old deserted caves on the West Bank, but you won't run into any at any of the tourist sites or in the tombs.

I am the same as Katiesmum (we've already had a snake hating conversation over PM!!!) and have a bad phobia of snakes.

I'm booked up to go on the day trip to Cairo in July so if anyone has seen any snakes, please advise. Otherwise, I will spend all day looking around in fear!! I just don't know what I'd do if I actually seen a live snake, I feel sick just thinking about it!
