Hi, Been to Thassos (golden beach) for the last 2 years loved the quiteness of the place and the beach, the only problem is the weather, go in the middle of september so not garanteed.
Now can anyone recommend an island like Thassos but garantee's sun in sept. A fantastic quite sandy beach not to far from a nice hotel, doesn't have to be a greek island but would be nice, was thinking about Kafalonia or skiathos but was told weather can be a bit iffy after august.
Any help would be great. ATB Vinny

not been to Thassos but friends and relatives have but you definitley need to be further south.
I have been to the Ionians in September and we were plagued by wasps.
There are plenty of quieter places on Crete, recommend Kosmar, especially north wets and south west which have enough to do but are not in your face.
Georgiopolis, Paleochra were both nice and this year we're trying Myrtos.
Stoupa on the Peloponese is also good and is quite southerly.

'Tis true about Skiathos was there last September was there for four days before we saw the sun, beautiful beaches though!

must ist be an island? Try the area around Finikounda (SW-Peloponnes). Most of the time the weather is fine even in September. Last year the water-temperature in November was still more than 20° C .
