Hi

I agree, just go with the flow. Just back from a great week staying near Sousse @Tour Khalef. Weather hot, food in hotel good and friendly people. You have to go with their approach to life (which can be a little different - eg Tunisians don't believe in queuing for trains, buses etc!) I met some hol-makers who were comparing attitudes and standards to England and Spain - it's North Africa and it's viva la difference. Have a great hol

Thanks for that. OH wanted to go to Dubai and it was a bit on the expensive side so I suggested tunisia - it is his brirthday treat. We went to croatia last year which I though was a risk and loved it. Never read any holiday reviews before and I keep getting this negative vibe coming through!
Going to try and chill out a bit. Just need some sun!

To be honest I've met people out there who, like me, are regular visitors, and others who say 'never again'. If you keep an open mind and remember it is nothing like Spain I think you will love it. I have friends who stayed in the Tej a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. It is very central and has a lot of facilities. I'm going to the Marhaba, also in Sousse, on 17th - my third time there, though my 11th time in Tunisia in the past five years.

I haven't been to the hotel you are staying in, but I really like Sousse it
is real Tunisia not like PEK which is manufactured and hasn`t any soul(though I have stayed there and enjoyed it) Just learn to say no firmly and with a smile when bothered by shopkeepers. The medina is great and
I spent hours wandering around looking in shops and drinking mint tea.

I'm right behind you on the subject of PEK, Judith. It could be anywhere in the Med. Yes, it has some good accommodation and restaurants, but it's not Tunisia.

Sousse, Monastir and Hammamet are all much more interesting places to visit. Places with a life beyond tourism.

I'm with you on the Sousse - v - PEK question, though each have their devotees. I've stayed in both quite happily but definitely prefer Sousse for the same reason. 15 days and counting now. :hyper :hyper :hyper
