Can anyone recommend a decent family-oriented restaurant in the Newmarket area (somewhere pref. within striking distance of A14) for Sunday lunch??
Need a sensible mid-way point to eat that is similar to Toby Carvery (whose website is hopeless!!) / Harvester or at least offers a reasonable selection of not-too-wildly-priced food!!

to be honest, there isnt really much around the Newmarket area as far as good places to eat.
if you go a little further down ther A14 to Bury St Edmunds, you will find a few places that are very nice & reasonable.
The Linden tree, located on Station Hill (Bury st edmunds) is a favorite of ours.
we dont have any of the big chains around here (Toby, harvester etc) the closest to it, would be 'The Hungry horse' chain which is owned by Greene king. & they are located all over East anglia. I think the closed would be either Cambridge or Mildenhall
