Georgioupolis or Paleohora on Crete should fit the bill. Good beaches, plenty of self catering accommodation, good selection of tavernas and bars - but no "yob" element!

I would suggest Kefalos in Kos or Troulos Bay in Skiathos, both fairly quiet places with a handful of bars and restaurants, not 18/30 and within a short bus journey to the other main resorts.

Why not try Tolo also known as Tolon on the Greek mainland. Kosmar go there. Went there about 2 years ago with my girlfriend (we are in our 30's) & it's near to the history if you are into that sort of thing; if not it's a great chillout resort but not too English & here-we-go. Tend to get Greeks holidaying there (who usually speak great English) & Brits who know a good thing & go back year after year! Quite a big resort by Greek standards without being OTT. Enough restaurants & bars.

Napflion is 15 mins by bus & is Greece's old capital & is very scenic & cosmopolitan butm also just great for chilling-out with a cold drink in the harbour or exploring. There is an impressive castle / fortress on the hillside & in the harbour which can be explored.

Athens is 2 hours away if you fancy a trip to the Accropolis which justice cannot be put into words, you just have to see it for yourself!

Epidavoros is about 45 mins away & is simply impressive. The biggest untouched amphitheatre holding around 6 or 7000. The accoustics are just unbelieveable; drop a coin on the floor at the front & you can hear it on the back row, try that in a modern football stadium!!!!!!

If you fly in via Athens you go over the Corinth Canal usually stopping for a braek on the cafe there. It's a massive shipping canal carved out of the rock in the late 1890's by hand with a bridge over the top. It's very impressive.

If any of these things may interest you (which is always difficult with mixed age groups) take a look on the 'net' & look them up you never know!

It's somewhere that the girlfriend booked & I must admit I was dissmissive at first as no-one had heard of it. But believe me it's great just because there seems to be something to do for everyone of all ages!

Hello,
do you know the area around Finikounda (SW-Peloponnes) that is 50 km away from Kalamata- airport. The area is one of the most beautiful of Greece because of ist clear and clean sea and the nice, sandy beaches surroundes by rocks. 2 km away from this village with is small harbour I own a holiday-house with a seperate apartment in it. It has 38 m² and space for 4 persons. There is one living/sleeping-room a small kitchen and a showerroom and also a covered terrace . It is fully equipped with everything you nee for your stay. (also sat-TV, in case you are a footfall-fan !)
The house is situated in a hill of a small valley and has a beautiful view over the valley until the sea that is only 900 m away. It is very quiet there.
If you like to get information of this area you should see the websites: http://www.finikounda.com or http://www.finikunda.com. There you will find pics of the beaches around and the typical greek village.
If you have more questions(for example price and more), don't hesitate to ask me; I can also send you pictures of the house and the apartment:
