HI my husband and myself had a bar / restaurant in Marbella through the 80's and spent many happy times up in Coin!! a long time ago now, but it was a lovely village up in the mountains, we used to go up and sit in one of the lovely bar's restaurants or bodega's and relax it was so peaceful after being in the hectic town of Marbella!!
we will just have 2 see when we get there but its nice to hear posotive comments
Coin has changed over the last ten years, its now a very busy town! Plenty of Brits and brit bars. Its not easy to find work anywhere in andalucia.
Coin and the area around are lovely. It is an area I feel so relaxed in and you get a real feel of Spain. Ex-pats are here and that is nice if you want that but the you can also mix with just Spanish and that is what makes it special for me.
Regarding work, I must be honest for you and tell you that work with any construction company will be hard to find. The reason is that the companies can employ people from Countries where the wages are low and so can pay low wages here. But all is not lost!!!! If your husband is a good DIY man then he could help people out for basic repairs? This is an area where a good DIY is needed. Silly things really but vital to people. So have a think on those lines.
Best of luck to you, keep an open, positive mind and may your dreams come true.
