Yes it is true there is no excess to pay should you be unfortunate to have a bump! We have rented from them 4 times now and although I have never received a car without a dent on it, they have all worked,driven,steered and braked just fine. The prices, I think are currently the best.

If you decide to pick your car up from the airport, you will find it parked on the main car park and not on the Car Hire car park. Just go to the manned exit booth and pick your keys up there.

Have used Sundrive for car hire several times now and have been very pleased with their service and rates. They also waive excesses for a small extra daily charge of Lm2 to Lm2.50 and the cars I've hired off them have been fairly new:

hi can anyone tell me what does car hire cost in malta in july.is it neccesary or is the buses good enough and cost effective to go everywhere.

We were in Malta for 7 days (and Gozo for 7 days). We hired a car on both Islands for the middle 3 days each week. If that makes sense :roll:. It was in July & I think it was about 55 or 60 pounds for three days but that was quite a small car, perhaps two door.

Car hire seemed cheap compared to other places we have been. It's worth making sure you get Air Conditioning.

We used buses to get in and out from our hotel in St Juliens to Valletta. They seemed cheap and frequent and I don't think we would have been able to park easily. We used the car to explore other parts of the Island, like Mdina and Masaxlokk and to get to Mellieha Beach.
