Expect to either love it or hate it
Most people who hate it stay at Poniente beach end of the resort which is as dead as a winter week in Morecambe! You will be right in the centre of the Levante beach end where all the life is. As long as you aren't the sort of person who'd go to New York and then complain about the lack of quaint thatched cottages you should have a great time.

Hi you are in a good location as its easy to walk to the square which is where the nightlife is, but enough away to not have disruption.
Colin is right you will love or hate Benni, but make sure you experiance all the lovely parts not just the sleazy bits!!! Take a taxi up to the church in the evening and watch the artists and locals selling local wares it is lovely up there and the views are fantastic, that is also the best beach to visit as its not overcrowded. If you do go there have a meal in sherrys its a lovely pub and does really nice meals at lunch(never been in eve). If you get approached by people asking do you want a free daytrip to a place called Guadalest with a company called Green Tours go you will have a good day out and it is free!! They do have small fees for stops along the way but it is optional, the con you may ask, well they take you to a place along the way that sells pure wool items and you sit through an interesting demonstration that they offer you, but you do not have to buy.
