My daughter is going to these appartments with her friend and her family in June. I was wondering if anyone has been recently and could tell me what it is like there.
Also, the girls are aged 15 and 14, is there much to do for teenagers. Is there entertainment laid on in the evenings.
Thank you
Jane
Monte Dourado is a complex of self contained apartments laid out in multiple blocks each with their own swimming pool. There is no central lounge/bar or any organised entertainment within the complex.
However it is only a 4 minute walk down a steep hill (so up on the way back!) to the center of Carvoeiro, which is a smallish town with loads of restaurants and bars mainly catering to families in the summer and slightly more mature adults. The youngsters will congregate at 2 or 3 late night bars or the one single disco by the beach, which only gets going long after I have gone to bed.
Its a really lovely spot among very friendly people, but Faliriki it is not.
There is also a short report on thsi website here http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/reviews/portugal/algarve/carvoiero/monte-dourada-apartments/
Hope this is what you wanted to hear !
It sounds a lovely place, ideal for relaxing. I'm sure the girls will find things to do in the evenings.
