I was thinking off mainland greece, but I have now idea where.I don't mind being in a town but I hate lager louts.
Many thanks Inz.
If you fancy the mainland have a look at the Mani. Very few 'resorts'. Look here link removed advertising

My choice would be the Kalamata and the Mani region,Kitries,Kardamyli etc.Good beaches, too many tavernas to try in one trip, wonderful scenery, easy reach of Olympia, Mystras, Ancient Messini.
Happy planning

There were hardly any other Brits there but lots of other nationalities stopping off in their camper vans. We absolutely loved it and are going back again this July and intend to keep going for as long as it remains unspoilt!

Hi.
Take a look at Parga. It is on the mainland not your typical resort it is village where ordinary Greek people live but in the summer they open Tavernas along the Harbour Front. No larger louts, plenty to typlical Greek village life with good choice of Tavernas.
http://www.yourgreece.gr who have some lovely and unusual places throughout Greece that might be worth checking out.
There are some lovely and unspoiled places in the Peloponnese - I agree with the previous posters about the Mani and Gialova but also quite fancy staying at Koroni or Methoni, in addition to the ones I've booked this time. You could also look at the Pelion, another beautiful area, or try Tapestry holidays who specialise in "uncommercial" areas.
We're shortly going on our first fly drive in Greece (Peloponnese), after loads of packages to various bits of Greece. We're flying to Athens and then spending 3 nights in Nafplion, 3 in Monemvassia, 3 in Paralio Astros and the last night near the airport. The first 2 lots of accommodation were booked using There are some lovely and unspoiled places in the Peloponnese - I agree with the previous posters about the Mani and Gialova but also quite fancy staying at Koroni or Methoni, in addition to the ones I've booked this time.
