Hi Wizard,
Sounds like you got yourself a real bargain. Been to Kos twice and loved every minute of it. First time round stayed in Tingaki and stayed in Kardamena last time (about 3 years ago). We're off to Corfu in 3 weeks and to Santorini in August, so you can see I'm a truly dedicated Greek holidaymaker. Which resort in Kos are you going to?

Hi Wizard, although you have booked a half board package the price you've paid is just as good as any self-catering holiday we've ever paid for Greece so you should try and get out to local tavernas for your evening meal for at least a few nights of your holiday..... hotel food isn't always great in Greece but the food and atmosphere at local bars and tavernas usually is!!!

hi both.. the place we are going is about a mile outside Kardamena its far bigger than we usualy go for but are hoping that there wont be too many kids there that week, i am hoping to get out for at least one mezze whilst there ( i love greek food but OH isnt keen on garlic and olive oil). we go to Cyprus at least once a year, but have been to Crete about 18 months ago and loved it, that was all inc. and only cost £244.00 each 4 star. its just we dont usualy go that early in the season..

We don't really know what to expect weatherwise in May as we normally go in August. I've been hoping for temps at least 20-21 during the day (according to forum members we mustn't expect more than this), but the easter focus on tv predicted about 26 degrees for Corfu this weekend. Don't know if this was the case.

Weather apart, it would be a shame to go to Kos and be tied to your hotel. I agree that with the money you've saved you'd be well advised to try a few of the local tavernas - more Greek than the hotels. I'm sure there'll be plenty to suit your oh.

Have a great trip.

Wizard, I'm sure the weather in Kos in May will be just lovely, warm and sunny during the day but cooler at night, which means that you will be able to sleep - which often isn't the case in July or August when it gets really hot!!!
We were on the Bodrum peninsular the second week of May last year and could see Kos from the beach - the weather that week was perfect and we came home with great tans.
