We were in Santorini (Kamari) 4 years ago and loved it I cant remember seeing any Hotels or studios along the beach that were bad in fact all the accommodation in Kamari looked very nice.
Plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.
It's also worth hiring a car or jeep to get around the Island.
Oia for the sunset is not to be missed but set out early for a good spot!
We would put Santorini in our top five!

Thanks. We've been to Kos twice and Zakynthos twice. This year we're six adults going on holiday and fancied something a little different. Do you need to go on an organised trip to see the sunset or is it close enough to go independantly.

It's really easy to get Thira town or to Oia to see the sunset on the bus.There is a bus stop on the main road in Kamari that takes you straight to Thira and you can then get a bus to Oia.Having said that unless you want to see Oia the sunset is just as good in Thira town.Get there early and get a good view as it gets very crowded and you really don't want to have to look over the crowds.
