Hi,

If its the ones I am thinking about they are behind the Montechoro Hotel at the top of the Strip. About a 10 min walk downhill to the top of the Strip.

We were at them on a last minute deal about 5 years ago and I am sure they were going to be renovated into timeshare apts (if its the same ones)??

If you let me know these are the same apts ie:in Montechoro then I can give you more info.

Yes it sounds like them. It says ithey are situated by the strip and we booked on the owners direct website.

We used them mainly just as a base for a week in June about 5 years ago. The apt we had was on 2 floors, living area with kitchen upstairs with a balcony and downstairs 2 bedrooms and bathroom, both bedrooms had a balcony also. A lot of the apts were privately owned and had locals living in them. No noise or anything though that I can remember. They are spacious as well.

They were basic but clean and tidy(ie:no TV etc) but met our needs . As I said, we were told they were about to be renovated just after we left so they may have all changed now?

There were several bars, restaurants and shops right outside the apartments and a coffee shop across the road. Good sized pool and the views we had from the balconies were great, looking right down the Strip and over Albufeira.

As I said, we really used the apt as a base and always headed for the beach and either the strip or the old town and for a last minute deal they were pretty good. We had no complaints anyway.

Thanks. It sounds like the apartments themselves are a bit different now but the rest sounds more or less the same. How far is the old town?

The Old Town is a good bit away but there is a taxi rank at the top of the Strip and should only be around 5 or 6 euros. Would be about an hour to walk which is nice on the way out with a few "pit-stops" on the way but not so much fun on the way back
