Im sure your girlfriend and son will manage just fine with the flight, if she seems to be panicky tell her she must stay calm so that she does`nt upset and frighten your son, i said that to my sister the first time she had ever flew, she was terrified but did`nt want to scare the kids so she kept it in and was fine once we were up in the sky.

Ps In boots you can get something called 'rescue' its especially for nerves for driving test /flying that sort of thing. you just put a few drops on your tongue.(works wonders).

alsbaby is talking about Bach Rescue Remedy. Is in a small yellow box and as stated is available from Boots/Superdrug etc.

hi thanks to all who mentioned this rescue remedy, as i must be the worst person for nerves on a plane. i once went to the doctors and he prescribed diazepam, it works, but i like a drink on the plane and you are only allowed one wee drink, not enough to steady my nerves. so... i will look into taking this remedy for a change and hopefully it works and i won't have to hide my fear from my kids,a bit like claustrophobia
