I always go to ayia napa and in May the season is only starting up so its quiet and peaceful. If its ayia napa your thinking of and don't want it too busy May would be perfect for you
As Polar says most parts of the island are quiet in May, but no idea of that side of the squashed mole.. 
thats great news as i am going to ayia napa in 9 more sleeps cant wait staying at the senator apartments just hope the sun has get his hat on ready for me the hotter the better
Mays ok not too busy but still enough around for an atmosphere especially in the senator good place to stay , ive stayed there 4 times
Stayed at the Senator last October, which is similar to May in terms of weather and how busy it is etc. Have also been to Agia Napa in May. It won't be very busy really, but most places will be open. If you don't like it busy, and the weather to be around 25 degress, then it should be an ideal time to go.

going on may 7 is it warm enough to wear shorts at the night time
Right now it's p*****g down outside, but still warmish..and yes it's May!! not into shorts at nights just yet!!! I only had mine on for an hour today!
now i am really looking forward to going only 5 more days weather seems to be getting hotter every day
Nice at the moment 12 noon about 20c...warmer in the sun of course..not hot as yet though a month or two away for the really hot weather...time then to get off the island..
