Don't you have to provide some kind of 'evidence' that you are entitled to the promotion i.e. if it were targeted specifically at, for example, the Firemen - do you not need to show some documentation that you are a fireman when checking in etc?

I appreciate that its way off this thread but still related to travel - I'm booking a daytrip to France and have a couple of P and O promo codes that work but I'm not sure of the implication if arriving at Dover with my ticket and not having proof that I'm entitled to the promo offer.
