Hi
Anyone know what the rules are for bringing back wine , spirits, cigs, and tobbacco back from the European Union countries by air .
Do the airlines have thier own limits ? Do different airlines have different limits?
Do customs have set limits to go through non declared?
The European law is as much as you want as long as it is for your own use.
The reason I ask is we only go abroad once a year and try to bring enough tobbacco to last a good way through the year for my husband.
Hi Tweetie Pie ... what you bring back is a matter of concern only to you and Customs & Excise. Airlines would not be concerned unless you exceed your checked or hand luggage weight allowance, or are unable to stow your purchases safely and securely.
I copied this off internet site. This is what says is classed for own use
3,200 cigarettes or
400 cigarillos or
200 cigars or
3kg smoking tobacco
10 litres spirits
20 litres fortified wine
90 litres still table wine
110 litres beer
