Sorry, but what IS important is the information as on the Bulgarian Embassy website, not what either a UK Post Office or a travel agent thinks or tells you.

We have found travel agents can be most unreliable regarding such matters, although they have a duty under the Package Holiday Regulations to give you the correct advice.

Good Morning Peter and other viewers, may I suggest that anybody in disbelief log onto Balkan Holidays site and go through the procedure of booking a holiday or flight. At the bottom of the form there is an errata which you have to tick to say you understand that no children will be admitted on their parents passport, hope this will clarify the matter Tonyt.

Hi beachbabe2004

surly the travel agents should know?

Surely the Bulgarian Government should know, as they passed the law?

The Consular Section's information to which Peter linked is the official Bulgarian Government's requirement - ignore it at your peril.

A great website for all Bulgarian Official News (in English) is sofiaecho.com, which has great informtion. This news website also mentioned the passport issue. Good reading.
Also, one post mentioned that they are opening up the sky for 'cheap air travel'. this could mean the likes of Easyjet by March 07!

With effect from 1 January 2006, all children entering Bulgaria will need to have their own passport. ...

Many thanks for this Info, I was not told when I booked my hol to Albena ..(Albena beach club) and we cant wait to go, as its a
"family holiday"
It would have been awful for all 11 of us to have turned up at the airport and me and my daughter not have not been allowed to go on holiday.

I really cant believe this info is not in the holiday brouchure
Many thanks again. :)

Hi Yvette,

Beware, the information on the Sofia Echo website is not 'official', in fact some of it is just plain wrong or out of date, e.g. this page indicates that Police Registration is required within 48 hours of arrival in Bulgaria - the law says 'within five days', having been amended quite some time ago.

Hi wiw4,

Time to get it renewed as soon as possible :!:

The Bulgarian Embassy information is that foreign citizens entering Bulgaria have to present a passport valid for at least three months beyond the holder's period of stay in Bulgaria.
