Visit the various Potteries around Stoke on Trent and their 'seconds' shops! Also there are lovely waterways paths around the canal, and good pubs too!

Leek isn't far from Buxton a few miles further on to Bakewell (nice shops and cafes) and a bit further to Chatsworth, both house and gardens worth a visit.

Hi, we live locally ---- it all depends what you want -----

Try Wedgwood's Visitors Centre in Barlaston
Gladstone Pottery Museum - a C18th lookat the pottery industry -
If you're not into history try Dimensions Water Park !
Or Dovedale --------------------- its a beautiful walk and not far from you.
We always head out to Buxton - the road from Leek to Buxton is stunning

Have a great time

Got beaten to it, but I would recommend Buxton too. It's a wonderful place and the drive over there from Leek is good too.

Whilst there you might want to pop a few miles up the road to see the Blue John Cavern.

Thanks I forgot about Buxton! Used to live in Nottingham and loved going there for a day out. I'm only in Liverpool now so its not a huge distance from home, should have plenty of time to see Buxton and Leek.

Thanks everyone.

Can anyone recommend nice pubs for food in Buxton or Leek? Haven't been for ages so need up to date information!

Careful on the roads around Leek/Buxton - there are Gatsos everywhere.

Hi

The Three Horseshoes Pub is mid way between Leek and Buxton and does a nice meal. If its for the evening then you'd need to book - very nice though! There's a web site but I'm not too sure what it is!

In Buxton there are quite a few nice places to eat - from typical British to Italien ------ we know that the Palace Hotel do a really nice meal, but I'm not sure if non residents can book ----- I think you can and the food is really excellent.

Have a great time
