I was wondering if someone could help. We are planning our first trip to Tunisia in September this year. I am going with my boyfriend and another couple and we are thinking of booking the Nabeul Beach hotel. Has anyone stayed here and is there a reason why it is so cheap?!
Also I would like to know what the area is like? We don't want to be stuck in the hotel so would like some bars and restaurants nearby but not a clubbing area!
I have looked at the reviews on this site for the hotel but wanted to try and get some more opinions. We are happy not to be surrounded by loads of Brits even though we are all British.
Thanks!
Rooms are fully air conditioned and very comfortable.
So comfortable, a Koala could sleep in there.
My fiance and I are travelling to Tunisia (our first holiday together!) on August 13th for two weeks and we are staying in the Nabeul Beach Hotel.
I have heard so many terrible things about the hotel and the drive from the airport that I am now wondering whether we made the right choice of holiday!
Has anyone been recently and if possible could be really honest with their review!?
Also: I think that the airport we are travelling to is in Tunis - heard that the Taxi is very expensive. Where is it possible to get currency as we are arriving very very early hours of the Sunday morning?
What currency should we take.....oh dear. I already feel ill prepared....I'm a fussy eater......should I have gone to Greece?
Sam.
We are going in 4 weeks time and I have read some bad reports on where we are staying, so am a bit concerned. We have never been to Tunisia before. We are taking our 2 children and our friends and their 2 children are coming too!
So can anyone put my mind at rest for me? We are staying All Inclusive at Nabeul Beach Hotel...
Fingers crossed.

Hi Donna please can you not post in phone text ie Thanx instead of thanks etc Briar Moderator.
I have just read your post.
We are going on the 6th - 17th August.
I have posted a similar question. I am a bit wary too!
I have also posted a similar question about the journey from airport to hotel. We are also arriving early hours and have arranged our transport this end, but am not too sure what to expect.
Fingers crossed eh?
Food- the food was fine at the beggining, the usual continental breakfast (including popcorn), pasta and more pasta oh and lots of chips and deep fried vegetables, but once a week they do put on tradditional tunisian food, couscous etc. There was a problem however that you couldn't eat anything after 9pm, even the pizza place shut at 5. (the pizza place was however very nice).
Alcohol- there was only five drinks included two very strange local drinks which do get you very drunk but taste revolting a strange brandy drink and a fig vodka, white and red wine and beer. The beverge stops being served at 11 so we found our selves stocking up on the table.
Trips- I would advise you go to the markets, and the smallest water park in the world in hammamet. Definately do the sahara trip it was excellent, but the tunisian night was awful.
Entertainment- the highlight of the trip was the entertainment, the team were amazing they kept you going from 10 in the morning and the partied with you until the small hours of the morning. You were never bored there was always sum activity going on and the entertainment at night was fantastic and very light hearted.
People- I felt completly safe which was unexpected everyone was so polite to you, leaving the hotel was no problem the only hassel you got was off taxi drivers wanting to take you everywhere.
Hotel- the hotel was very basic by means of food, rooms and alcohol, however it was very very clean and the maids even offered you massages, a very friendly place but I must say they do prefer the paying guests (french and spanish mostly) but the pool, beach and sourounding areas where always spotless.
Nightlife-we did venture out to a club in hammamet which was a big mistake but only because we went on a thursday there was no-o0ne there and the drinks were quite expensive. (tip-you cannot buy alcohol in the supermarkets and Ipromise you will be fed up of the hotels drinks in about 2 days so I strongly advise you to take a bottle of something with you I really do)
Finally Id like to say that I wouldn't go back to nabeul beach, however i do feel it was absolute value for money and I think whom ever goes should keep an open mind and remeber that they have paid for the basic holiday and they will get it (aoart from entertainment which is worhth a five star rating). The weather is fantastic and for a sunbathething holiday eith a little culture trips put in you will enjoy it.
Hi my mum has just booked to go to this hotel in 3 weeks time and we've found some really bad reviews. There's also some Ok ones but she's really worried about the bad ones and doesn't know whether to try and change the hotel. Has anyone been there more recently than last october and have you got any thoughts? hope you can help, thanks
