We've just come back worst luck

Shopping is definitely and evening / nightime hapening in Naama

If you are looking for a Tropical style beach they are rare

most hotels on the seafront are built on a low cliff with a coraline shelf immediately under them
That said the hotels have terraces leading down to the water and a pontoon to get you over the coral and into the water

MY personal preference is the hotel ( http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/holiday_truths/hotel_reviews/2548/Tropicana%20Grand%20Oasis%20Hotel/ ) we stayed at this year in Sharks Bay it has a FREE shuttle to Naama so no need for taxi's

and a fantastic reef and even better a really friendly dive crew (Werner Lau) lead by Christina

We had a similar 'tick list' as yourself and we did a lot of research before booking our hotel in Sharm (we're going in October). We wanted somewhere with a nice beach where we can snorkel, and to be within walking distance of Naama Bay, where all the nightlife is based. We didn't want to be reliant on taxis / hotel buses in the evening.

We opted for the Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort - it's only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Naama Bay and you can use the beach at its sister hotel, the Hilton Fayrouz Resort.

We opted for the Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort - it's only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Naama Bay and you can use the beach at its sister hotel, the Hilton Fayrouz Resort.

The dreams is just across Peace Road from the Fayarouz so I'd say 5 miniutes to cross and 5 to walk

as a postscript to my last reply talking about Tropicana Grand Oasis we are trying to move heaven and earth to get back there in September
