I would recomment staying in Cala Forcat or Cala Blanes because these are quite busy places and as the island is so quiet this time of year you need to go somewhere busy.

First year we went to Menorca we stayed in Cala Blanca in the middle of July and was absolutely bored stiff. I was only 14 at the time and my brother was 10, but because the resort is so small there was just nothing to do.

Stayed in Forcat 4 times now and went last year in May/June half term, it was obviously no where near as busy as high season but there was still enough to do to keep us all occupied.

You can usually get some cheap package deals to Forcat staying in Talayot Apts if you book a bit closer to the time.

Menorca is the more expensive of the Balearics though but we have managed to get some good deals by shopping around and doing price matches. I have looked at getting a flight only before to Menorca but the flights are a lot more expensive to Mahon then Palma/Ibiza which is why I'd reccomend package.

Good luck!

Have a look at Valentin Son Bou - i've just returned from this hotel today - it is excellent for kids under 10 with lots of facilities, mini-club, pool (outdoor & indoor). Just check the reviews to see how good it is.

You can book yourself (as we did) on the usual websites - medhotels, checkin2.com, alpharooms etc.. and we flew with thomson fly.

I'm writing a review on this hotel at the weekend so keep a look out.

If you need to know any more, just post me a reply.

Cheers, Colin

Hi ,

we went to cala n bosch 2 years ago, and for the first time ever we are returning to the same place!! we go in 9 days and i have booked it all independently. Thomson wanted 2200 for the holiday for 2 ads 2 kids aged 6 and 5 and i booked it with monarch,go2spain, and carjet with a large size car for 13 days for 1400. an £800 saving! definitely worth doing yourself.I used to be a travel agent, and I always do it this way, even when i was working! I would definitely recommend cala n bosch. My kids are a similar age and were never bored. There is the aqua park, plus goody goody park with a pool, water slides and kids play areas. titanic park with trampolines etc, plus a few restaurants have kids play areas too. We went all over the island and found cala n bosch to be the best overall. Plenty of places to eat around the marina, with lots of choice for kids too. Son bou had the best beach but found it limited as a resort, and cala n forcat/cala n blanes i thought was a bit scruffy. It is a lot bigger though if you are looking for a lively resort.Beach absolutely tiny and it was a bit dirty when we were there.guess it depends what you like! But I could thouroughly recommend cala n bosch, and as i say we have never been to the same place twice. we are staying at the grupotel macarella this time, so will let you know what they are like when we get back. Princesa playa in the same resort gets really good reviews too.If you need any more info send a reply
