It could be difficult to get to the greek islands from Cyprus. One way is to take the the ferry from Girne(TRNC) to Tasucu in Turkey then on to Marmaris and then ferry to Rodos. I am not sure whether the ferries from Cyprus to Greece are running again. I would guess there would be flights to Athens from Larnaca (Cyprus airways) but you will still have some travelling to do to reach whatever island(s).

Polar's correct. You can get a flight to Athens.
And I know from my stay in Rythimno, Crete last year.
That there is a ferry, that goes to/from Rythimno to Athens.
