3* and good don't always go together in malta. if you are used to a 3* in the u.k. you will find a difference in malta but the price reflects this, you will payy £20 to £30 per night sometimes more. i have been traveling to malta for 35 years and with careful research on forums like this and websites, see essentil links and the hotel review section. i have always enjoyed my stays in various hotels, but my needs are few as i love to get out and about, using the hotel purely as a base and i always stay b&b.

as for meals out a medium budget would be between ml8 to ml14 you can pay less or more according to the occasion. most guide books have a section on restaurants and how much you would pay for meals.
