You old romantic :love

I think most people have holiday romances when they are younger which probably end a few weeks after they get home when the phone calls stop, unlike you of course :D

Although no holiday romances I ever had ended in marriage (met Perry whilst celebrating the safe return of some mates from the Faulkland War in our local) I do have a friend (this is going to get confussing now) :hmmm who was married to one of Perry's friends of 30 years who also happens to live over the road from us (got it ?)

For her 40th she decided as well as the normal party we would have a girlie week abroad the week before. We went to Magaluf and had a ball. We done all the things that girlies do when on holiday, you know the things that if your husband saw you doing he would disown you. Anyways we got talking to some scottish blokes who were on a golfing holiday, some had their dads with them some had dad in laws and brothers etc etc. We used to meet up each night in a club and we'd buy each other drinks and just have a laugh - nothing untoward. But my mate took it a stage further and fell in love with one of them, they had a quick fling whilst on holiday and that was it. Very awkward for the rest of us on our return with all the husbands knowing each other. However the following year the girlies went to Cyprus ( we tend to have a girlie week as the husbands go skiiing together in February every year) and you guessed it she fell for a bloke who was in the army out there. She came home continued the romance secretly for almost a year via phone/e-mail until hubby found out. He walked out, she moved the boyfriend in and at this precise moment they are planning a new start together in Kent with her three kids from her marriage.

holiday romance when i was 15..aaah my first love. He was holidaying where i live, staying with his nan who owned the local shop. I was smitten :love and we stayed together for about 4 years, despite the distance apart we lived. He went to uni, i was due to go there also, but we just drifted apart.. we haven't been in contact for a number of years now, not since his nan died.. and when i saw him again at her funeral my heart skipped a beat just like it did all those years ago when i was 15..last i heard he was in manchester..

my brother met his now wife years ago while she was holidaying in England doing the touristy bit that all the americans do in London. They have been married for i don't know how many years now and have 3 lovely kids and a great life in the rocky mountains of montana..

My friend met her hubby when 3 of us went on a girlie holiday to Faliraki in 1990 (it was lively then, but not the peehole it has been in recent years). The world cup was on, it was a marvellous holiday.

Anyway, the lads upstairs, on the same flight as us were from our home town area and they got together. 16 years, marriage and 3 kids later they are still together.

The one I met, we lasted 8 months. :D

I met my other half while I was on a girls holiday and he was on a lads holiday in Zante, 3 years ago.

We lived an hour's drive away from eachother, so just saw eachother at weekends. But after 6 months he moved up to where I live. We are now engaged, and have just bought a house. :)

my brother met his girlfriend in palma nova ( in Majorca! ) about 10 years ago!
they also had a long distance relationship as he lived in Suffolk and she was at uni can't remember where... but about 150 miles away!
they would see each other about every 2/3 weeks and when she finished at uni instead of going back home to exeter she made her home here in suffolk with him!!
they now have their own home and also have a 1 year old beautiful baby girl !!!!!!

Another romance - met my hubby in Magalluf in 1984 - I am from Newcastle and he is from Epping, Essex - so we did a bit of travelling up and down the A1 before he finally dragged me down South - won't lose my accent though. 22 years now - still extremely happy.

I can go back further .... :D

My mum met my dad when she was on holiday in Jersey. He was a local lad and she was staying in a guest house. They got set up on a blind date. Married in 1952 and were happy until sadly he died in December 1999.
