We are looking to go to Portugal in August and will be driving down from the Costa del Sol, so we have transport and can be pretty flexible.
Last year we did something similar and 'hopped' around different resorts which I really enjoyed. We went to Albufeira, Alvor, Villamora, Gale, Praia de Rocha, Montechorro and nearby areas (excuse spelling). As we live in a major touristy area in Spain, we are more than happy to get away from it, so Alvor and Gale were our favourites out of the above, Praia de Rocha and Albufeira being the least favourites.
I have heared a lot about Sagres and this area appeals to me. I would also like to revisit Alvor. We are pretty flexible with this but as it is August we want to book accommodation before we arrive.
We are happy with fresh seafood restaurants, nice local bars, open late but prefer pretty low key. NOT BRITISH! We also like to stay in a 4 star hotel or similar near to the beach.
Does anyone know how far the drive would be, say from Albufeira to Sagres?
Any ideas of accommodation or resorts would be great.
