I have been tasked with booking a holiday for my boss and his wife and they want to go to Italy, but as its not a place I have ever looked at taking a holiday I don't know where to start.
Could anyone give any suggestions on locations/resorts?
The boss is 54 and I guess his wife is around the same age. They would like either an all inclusive beach holiday or a villa in the mountains and don't want to travel over an hour away from the airport to get to their resort/location.
Can anybody help?
This may well be too late now,and sorry it's taken me sooooo.... long to reply, but Tuscany is lovely. I stayed at the Hotel (Paggeria Medicea) connected to the Villa Medici in Artimino village near Florence (Firenze) and it was really lovely, particularly if you're looking for a nice, relaxing holiday. You need to hire a car though,to get around,as it's quite high up in the mountains. (amazing views)
There are a few "select" restaurants in and around the village(Da Delfina is one of them) and it's quite an eye opener to see all the wealthy people driving up in their Chauffeur driven cars

It's not too far from the airport though, and basically follows the road along the river Arno and then up into the mountains. The directions we were given were really easy to follow, and so we found the place without any bother at all. You can easily drive into Florence (about 40 kms/15 mins.away) and Pisa to see the sights.
IMO it's definitely worth a look.
