We are going to St Petersburg on a cruise and will be there 2 days and a night. There seem to be a variety of excursions to do. Can anyone reccomend anything to see in particular? Thanks
Shirley

We have been told that its dangerous to wander round on your own and advised to do organised excursions so not sure about going off on our own.

When we went on a Baltic cruise last year we had two days in St. Petersburg but we were not allowed off the ship except in a organised group because you need a visa which costs £60 each. Decided to just do the excursions as that would pay for at least one trip. We had a tour of the Hermitage and a bus tour of the city with avisit to the ballet in the evening.
