We stayed at the kaptan in august last year,they are set right next to the beach near to all the night life.They are set back making them very quiet and relaxing,we have stayed in marmaris four times and would say they are the best apartments we have stayed in.You could always get a sunbed by the pool ,all the rooms are very large with a balcony plenty of room for four or six.We nearly booked again but are going to bodrum for a change.If you look on holidaysuncovered they have lots of reviews for these apartments.All i can say is you will have abrilliant time here i will definatley go back the next time we go to marmaris

we stayed these aparts they r very nice next to the beach pool area gets a bit shady l8er in afternoon otherwise xlent

Hi ,never been to turkey before usually spain, majorca, ibiza cyprus.Planning a week this august and these apartments came up .I've read some good reports but just wandered if marmaris was suitable for a 10 and 3 year old and is it suitable for pushchairs?Thanks in advance

rang today to book the kaptan apartments and guess what?holiday gone

Hi,

Due to visit the above on 5th August. Anyone got any info they want to share?

A party of 6 of us stayed at the Kaptan for a week in May. These apartments are in a great location, practically on the beach with loads of restaurants and bars nearby. The apartments themselves were big and clean. We had clean sheets and towels every day which we were most impressed with. Nice pool and the reception area is really unusual. The only downside for us was the atmoshere. It was dead, although each apartment was occupied. When we came back from the beach we like to have a few drinks and a laugh with other residents before getting ready to go out but the atmosphere was flat even with 6 of us and it usually was only the six of us. The poolside bar was non existent and we had to keep waking up the only barman as he was always sleeping. There is no food served at the apartments but this doesn't really matter because you are surrounded by lots of restaurants. Not so handy if you spend the day at the pool. Great base for a holiday due to location but I doubt if we would return to the Kaptan. It might have been like this because it was the second week of the season but we still had a brilliant time.

Can anyone advise if the Kaptan Apts. in Marmaris (just around the corner from the Grand Azure Hotel) are still open?
We heard reports that the complex had become very run down in the past year or so.
Apparently these apts. are no longer in the Direct Irish brouchures either.
If anyone has been there or can walk by & take a look that would be most appreciated.

Ted, we stayed at these apartments last year and found them to be okay if not a little basic, staff were very helpful. We stayed at the Club Anastasia in May of this year and decided to go around to the Kaptan Apartments, they are still open, I noticed a few changes around the pool area, such as the location of the bar. Didn't however go inside. Hope this is some help.

The kaptan apts. do not appear to be in the Direct Holidays
Irish brochure (they are in the UK brochure?) so we were not sure if they were still open.
We can't uderstand why not as although these aptartments had been getting more quiet in recent years we always had a great time there & even had to book early in the past to be sure to get a room!
Does anyone (maybe someone from Direct holidays) knows why the Kaptan was dropped from the Irish brochure or if there are any plans to have them back again?

We will be in Marmaris this septmeber so will take a wander over to see if any of our old friends are still there.
Rumour has it (& you know how turkish stories go!) that whole area around the Kaptan was to be developed along the beach front so it will be interesting to see what has changed since we last visited.
