Depends how much you can stand the heat. There is very little humidity which makes it much more bearable. Any trips need to be done quite early in the day as places like Valley of the Kings bake in the afternoon heat. We went in the last 2 weeks of August last year and loved every minute of it - no problem with the heat even for our 2 kids........ only 18 days till we go back!

I love the sun & heat, but a couple of years ago we went to Luxor in August, and found it almost unbearable. I spent most of the time sitting in the pool reading a book. The tarmac on the road up to Macdonalds melted so they covered all the floors with cardboard! I wouldn't recommend.

We spent two weeks in Luxor last month (June) the temerature was around 108 degrees, nice first thing in the morning until around 0900, then you need to be around a swimming pool or in an air conditioned area, it did not really cool down, if you can say that until approx 1930 when the sun set.

It really was too hot to do anything but be lazy in and around the swimming pool.

The best months are late September, November and December.

Have a good holiday.
