tend to use local Cypriot workers.

What sort of work would you be looking for? The local English papers here advertise jobs.

The bases tend to use Cypriots, as Helen has said, but will also give preference to dependants of soldiers. Many of them get bored out of their trees, so look for work.

Sorry to disagree with you but on Episkopi Garrison at least they don't.

My son is just home after two and a half years there and none of the wives

could get a job on base as they prefer to use Cypriot workers only. The

only job my daughter in law got was at the pool as she is a qualified

lifeguard.........and that was part time.

It's all about the economy and good will.

Things must have changed.
My sister had a job at Dhekelia, but that was a few years ago.

There is also the Cyprus Weekly - you can find it on a Google search. However the websites only have the news, you need the actual paper to look for jobs.

Sorry this is not much help. You really need to come here in person to find work. There is always casual work to be found in the tourist areas.
