Palma is one of the **premier** shopping centres in the Med ( so my wife assures me). You want it, they got it.

Palma is the capital city of Mallorca, and there is a huge choice of shops of all types, sizes and choice. However you must plan your day (or preferably 2) by making sure the shops you want are open, and you have the time to look around. I speak to a lot of people who don't think much to the choice of shops in Palma, there is a lot of choice, but they tend not to be in Shopping Centres such as you often find in UK, but spread out across the city.

Plaza d'Espana is probably a good starting point (a lot of the buses start and terminate there anyway, it's near the Railway Station, and there's a Tourist Information Centre where you can get a free street map of the City Centre) it's only a few minutes walk to El Cortes Ingles, and there's a lot of nice shops along the Calle St. Miguel (I think it's called) which leads past New Yorker which is probably the best shop for "Street Fashion" (as if I'd know!!!)

Start early in the day, have a long lunch, and shop late.

Shop for shoes till you drop! You also have pan-european clothes chains such as D&G, Boss, Zara and H&M and prices there are at least 20% lower than in England. The big department store El Corte Ingles near Plaza Espana covers most labels but with smaller ranges than, say, Selfridges. Don't ignore the small independent shops which offer some fabulous designs. Finally, the larger markets are crammed with cheap and cheerful leather, textiles, shoes, clothes, and, of course, the most mouthwatering array of produce. Enjoy!
