Hi,
Im thinking of turkey as a holiday in january time with my partner, as we've never been before im just wondering if anyone could help me with some questions.
What are the best resorts to stay in? we are both in early 20's and enjoy abit of night life (few drinks in lively bars) and during the day we want to chill out on the beach, or by the pool or looking round the shops and seeing the sights.
What are the prices like? and what is the weather like in january? Could anyone reccomend hotels or apartments? what are the locals like?
I think thats it for now. Thanks for any help.

We go to Marmaris, it's fab! We are in our late twenties but still enjoy going out to bars etc and chilling by the pool during the day. There are loads of excursions if you want them, aqauaparks, jeep safari, boat trips to greece etc. And loads of shopping.
Marmaris is fab. There are so many different parts to Marmaris you can pick a quieter bar or a really lively one. We found in one week we didn't have time to do everything we wanted to so we are going back for two weeks and I'm sooooooooooooooo excited.
There is such a mix of people cos there is something for everyone. I know it sound corny but there is.
The prices are really cheap, far cheaper than spain, canaries etc. A large beer was between £1.00-£2.00 - £2.00 is in the 'posher' bars. They are usually a max of £1.50. You can have a full english brekki for £2 or a slap up turkish kebab with all the trimmings for about £6. These are average prices, you can get cheaper or more expensive depending on which bars you go.
As for the hotel, we stay in club alize and they shut in October so I can't help you there.
Wherever you go you will LOVE it!

Doesn't it rain a lot in Marmaris in January?
Kazbabe, my daughter went to Marmaris to see a friend in January and it is freezing at that time of year so you wont be on thje beach i'm afraid. Most of the bars are closed too so you wont get much nightlife.
In the Marmaris area, it is very cold and rains a lot, and yes a lot of the restaurants and bars are closed for the winter. I think the area around Antalya has a more moderate climate, but still don't think its beach weather in January. Turkey is beautiful, and has all the things you said you like in the holiday season between May & October, perhaps you could change your dates?
Thanks for all your help, it sounds great but maybe next summer instead of january. We was thinking of january because it's my partners birthday and we wanted to go somewhere nice and hot, but i'll deffinatly keep turkey in mind for the future.
