My partner and I are huge fans of Greece and have been there for the past 7 holidays. We want to try somewhere new but still unspoilt, uncommercialised and very pretty.
Somewhere where the food is great good wine friendly people, but not 8 hours on a plane to get to.
We normally do self catering giving us chance to sample all of the local restaurants. But dont mind bed and breakfast (as long as the breakfast is varied and good)
we love clean sandy beaches which are not overcowded. and a good standard of accomodation.
Perhaps with a pool.
Thanks in advance
We were in Alcossbre last october and found it to be more a Spanish resort. Nice Marina in Las Fuentes. Inland scenery very good too.
Alcossbre is about an hours drive from Valencia airport.

Miles of beautiful sandy beaches, which are never crowded and it's very Spanish, a world away from many of the better known Costa's!
Have a look at http://www.costa-luz-holiday.com for more info on the area.
We are looking to perhaps go back next year. Do you know if there is still a lot of building work going on?

Sorry, I don't know that area pippa, we are further down in the Cadiz province.
Southern Costa Del Azahar is beautiful. We've settled there as we found it a bit more Spanish than other areas we looked at. Conversely there are blue flag beaches which do not get overcrowded also.
Try the Rias Baixas in Galicia. There are cheap flights to Santiago de Compostela then hire a car. The areas around Ria de Arousa are fabulous. Try for example Cambados, O Grove, Sanxexo or Vilanova for example. The wine is D.O Rias Baixas - Albarino.
