Yes they are part of TUI the parent company of Thomson.
Allocated on arrival hotels are not always the same hotels as featured in brochures as sometimes companies have specific hotels that are used only for AOA, and these hotels don't feature in brochures or websites so it would be worth asking if it would definitely be a hotel from their brochured full board selection.

I don't think there are any promotion codes for First Resort.

You could try going on to the THOMSON website (this link may take you straight there ?) and enter a search, remember to click on add more options and click FB, I have checked for departures from London on the 4th and there are several hotels listed, so if it is definitely a hotel from the FB selection you should be able to see the standard of hotel here.
