We are considering visiting Kalami during 2007. Any opinions on the resort or on either the Dimitris Apartments or Panoramer Studios would be most welcome.
Thank you in anticipation of your help.
Derek.

Sorry to sound negative, but in my opinion Kalami has been spoiled by recent over-development that has ruined Gerald Durrell's idyllic, sleepy village.
The bay's now lined with some truly horrid apartment blocks. Whoever gave permission to build them (persuming someone did) should be shot.
Having said that, Kalami's not exactly a heaving fleshpot. My objections are mainly aesthetic.
What, in particular, are your priorities?

hi passiontravel said i would get back to you on our return, Kalami is very quiet with three tavernas and a couple of bars, there are three more tavernas within a 10 min boat ride in agni bay (the nikolas taverna there is realy good) i would go for the dimitris or the frosso these apts are very good and your aircon safe, tv, are included in the price(10 euro deposit required for these) Kalami is a very attractive little bay the sea is very calm there is virtually no under tow in the sea there so you can go quite away out.
p.s we liked it that much we booked to go back there next year before we came away although booking direct with them not the tour operator
pps found out today that dimiris and frosso have been withdrawn from kosmar brochure so if you go to http://www.kalamicorfu.com you can book direct with them

Done just had our confirmation from bluebay travel we`re off back to the Dimitris in Kalami next august
Thomas Taverna in Kalami is excellent. The food is lovely and thomas very friendly and polite. Also if you have a car you can drive to San Stefanos. It's only about 15 mins by car. Some lovely tavernas there too for eating out at night. Try hiring a speed boat from Kalami bay and go up the northeast coast. You'll feel like a millionaire! You can also pull in for lunch at many of lthe little resorts.
I know what you mean about the apartment block in Kalami. This is the Adonis apartment which if used by Thomson/Portland. We went in May and I must admit it wasn't too bad. Still think Kalami has it's charm just sit with your back to them when on the beach but to be quite honest they're not an eyesore.
To be honest, Kalami is still atractive... the pity is it should be more than atractive. It's got the attributes to be the most beautiful spot on Corfu, even surpassing Ag Steph and Agni.
But a bit of ill-conceived building, which no doubt netted a tidy amount for somone, has turned a magical spot into something, hmmm.. a little bit spoiled.
Ah well, it joins a long list throughout Greece there then.

passiontravel kalami is great if you like it very quiet we had a great time at the dimitris, if you want to go next year you will have to try direct through bluebay travel or direct greece, they did not renew contract with kosmar this year we liked it that much we`re going back next year
Hope someone can help - I know there are 3 or 4 tavernas and a couple of supermarkets in Kalami but are there any actual bars that are not part of accomodation complexes?
yep go past the arts and craft shop on the right just after the supermarket attached to the dimitris and frosso apts there is one on the right (forget the name of it) thats heading towards the white house with the a+a apts behind you
Think it might be called "Kalami bar"
thats the one ta for reminding me
